IT is Island Timing

Bob Beattie started Island Timing in 2008 to take over for Fit Results.
Bob has been running and helping out at races for decades. In 1994 he founded the East End Road & Trail Runners Club. The first year the club hired a timer and started three new races. The second year, the timer decided not to time any new races. With more new races in the works, Bob took over the job with his own system of manual timing.
With three new races a year, it became necesary to take on a partner and computerize. Fit Results was formed. For 12 years Fit Results has timed hundreds of events. Now with the partner retired, it's time to expand.
Ten years ago, hardly anyone used chip timing. Today everyone expects it. Island Timing has been formed to meet the challenge. IT has purchased the Winning Time System and is now using chips in all of it's races. IT times over 30 races a year all over Long Island.
In 2010 Bob is taking on a new partner, his brother Ron. Ron has been helping out at the races for awhile. It was time to expand. We are now purchasing a new chip timing system using disposable chips. That will enable us to time larger races without the cost of lost chips. Other enhancements will be announced as we progress.
Bob is also a former manager with Schwab's Second Wind and currently manages Gubbins Perfect Fit store in East Hampton. He publishes The East End Runner for the East End Road & Trail Runners Club and acts as the clubs president until someone else wants to take it over.
